Gentle Yoga and Meditation 6 Week Course

— About the Course —
A 6 week exploration of gentle mindful movement, pranayama (breath practices), restorative/yin yoga, meditation and journaling.
Perfect for those looking for a gentle, relaxing and nurturing practice in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by trees and fields just outside of Newquay.
Over the 6 weeks we will explore the yogic system of the Koshas. Kosha means sheath, layer or body and is a way of exploring different aspects of what makes up being a human and how we can support health and well being on all levels.
Each class will start with pranayama, breath work and gentle mindful movement into stillness with Yin/restorative poses, ending with guided mediation and relaxation and a reflective journalling exercise to do at home.
Week 1 – Annamayer Kosher – Physical Body
Exploring the physical body, the fleshy bit of our being we can touch, feel and see, through movement and sensing physical sensation, creating space. Gentle moon salutations, body scan meditation and Yin yoga. How can we best nourish our physical body?
Week 2 – Pranamayer Kosha – Vital Energy Body
Exploring the energy body, our life force, through breath practices and movement to clear energetic blocks within the body. Gentle heart opening poses to lift our energy and forward folds to settle. Asking what drains our energy and what revives our energy?
Week 3 – Manomayer Kosha – Emotional and Mental Body
Delving into the emotional and mental body through dance like movement, and hip opening poses. Awareness of thoughts and emotions. How can we wisely and creatively express our emotions and thought patterns, releasing and transforming them?
Week 4 – Visnanamayer Kosha – Wisdom and Awareness Body
Tapping into our intuitive wisdom body. As we observe the first three layers and bring them into balance, we create space to hear our body of deep knowing and intuition.
Week 5 – Anandamayer Kosha – Bliss Body
Opening our hearts into the final layer of bliss and love. In tantric yoga they say that “Our birthright is joy”. Exploring gentle heart opening poses and loving kindness meditation.
Week 6 – Bringing it all together
A journey through all the Koshas through movement through to stillness with a juicy 30 minute Yoga Nidra Meditation to finish. Bliss.

This course is open to both complete newbies to yoga looking for a gentle introduction this amazing practice and more seasoned yogis who are looking for a softer return to practice after time out or as way to explore the deeper, quieter realms of their practice.

— About your teacher —
I am a Yoga Teacher based in Newquay, Cornwall. I have been practicing Yoga since I was 14 and have been meditating for 5 years. I completed my 200hr Vinyasa Yoga teaching certificate with Julia McCabe and Sarah Zandbeek 2016, 40hrs Level 2 Restorative Yoga Training with Amanda Brown 2018, 50hrs Level 2 Vinyasa Training with Keren Cooksey 2019, in August will be studying Yin Yoga Teacher Training and I begins a 3 year Masters Degree in Mindfulness Based Approaches in October 2019 at Bangor University and continue to practice regularly with senior teachers.
